Thou art the ruler of the minds of all people,
Dispenser of India's destiny.

Punjab,Sind, Gujarat, and Maratha,

It echoes in the hills of Vindhyas and,
Himalayas, mingles in the music of the
Jamuna and the Ganges and is chanted by

So few days’ back I got an SMS claiming “Indian National Anthem has been announced best Anthem in World by UNESCO. Congrates to all Indians. Pass this to all your friends”. ‘Now what was this???? Are countries going to fight for the best national anthems??? Each countrymen love their country and their anthems no one can actually rank anthems this way. Till now ugly man/women, beauty pageants, 7 wonders etc., had hit the news and this is something new.’ These were my 1st thoughts. Of course this is the best news for me too as an Indian. But I wanted an authentication before celebrating or just being happy about it.
So I approached our friendly Google for the same. Google denied showing me any such confirmation. Although there were many blogs that had same news written on it. Many claimed that we got this honour on September 2008. So I approached UNESCO official website and guess what??? No such news over there. Nothing of such pageant awarded to any country. So probably many people got a mail saying so or an SMS (as I got), they simple posted an article with out searching for evidences regarding the news. Many of the comments on such posts did asked the writer proof; few even claim this as another Internet hoax.
Probably this comment is right. As in the absence of any verification and no news on UNESCO website I would also like to ignore the news. These SMS or emails usually make profits per click or per SMS. These may even forward messages or viruses through these mails. So we must confirm any news before forwarding such things to other friends. If any one as evidence of such thing that should be accompanied by these mails or messages. If any one has any article proving the news plz do leave a comment on this post.
Till then, we consider our nation, as our mother and mother’s are always best, whether she is ours or any one else’s. Mother’s don’t need pageants to be declared the best.
